Rido Busse is the Chairman of the German Trade and Industry Board and, as an award-winning product designer, founded the design agency busse design ulm. He is the recipient of the baden-wurttemberg state economy medal and is an activist in the fight against piracy in product design, having founded the "plagiarius", a punitive award for the theft of ideas.

JOHN DUNNIGAN is professor and Head of the Department of Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. as a designer he is known as "the man with the well-placed tassel." his work at john dunnigan studio and as a partner at dunnigan wahl associates has been featured in house beautiful, the new york times, town and country, metropolis, better homes and gardens, newsweek and art and antiques.

MAXWELL GILLINGHAM-RYAN is the founder of apartment therapy, a new york interior design practice. he is also founder and editor-in-chief of the residential interior design blog apartment therapy.com ("saving the world, one room at a time"), which has become one of the country's most influential voices in interior design. his work with apartment therapy has landed his opinions on design in the new york times, the new york post, the new york observer and the wall street journal.

ANDY GRIFFITH is co-owner and buyer of los angeles' A+R Design Store, a playful silver lake ode to international modern design with a new sister location on abbott kinney in venice beach. he is an expatriate who traded england for the u.s. and a film editing career for design.

David Hertz, AIa, leed is the Principal of david hertz, aia architects, a full-service architecture firm that specializes in the design and construction of residential and commercial buildings with an emphasis on systainability. he is Founder of syndesis, inc. and engineer of Syndecrete, an innovative lightweight concrete alternative to non-renewable materials.

Gwynne Pugh, AIA, leed is co-founder and partner at Pugh + Scarpa architects and is known for his planning, design and facilitation skills between parties. he serves as chair of the santa monica planning commmission and as a peer review consultant to the cities of san diego, long beach, carson and los angeles and at the getty conservation institute, and is an expert in sustainable design and engineering.

Josh Rubin is Editor-in-Chief, founder and Publisher of cool hunting (www.coolhunting.com), a trendtracking phenomenon that banks on rubin's experience in graphic design as a user interface lead at motorola and design director at razorfish. he is senior partner and a founder of the digital services firm bond art and science, and an acute observer and curator of products of cultural inspiration.

MELISSA STERRY founded the design agency, think tank and incubator Societás in 2004. She sits on the WWF's Beyond Green Consumption think tank and is the eco-style and ethical affairs editor to several European arts and lifestyle titles. She is the co-founder of the Creative Graduate Prize launched in 2005 and the Iconique Societás 'Excellence in Fashion Photography and Illustration Awards launched in conjunction with Iconique.com in 2007.

Barbara Thornburg is the Senior Style Editor of the Los Angeles Times Magazine .
